Career highlights

  • Bill Blackie joined the group in 1999 having previously practiced as an attorney in both Zimbabwe and South Africa. 
  • In 2006 he took up the role of Head: Corporate Finance (South Africa).
  • Bill was appointed Head: Investment Banking (South Africa) in 2009 and appointed as Deputy Group Head: Investment Banking in 2012.
  • In 2015 he was appointed Group Head: Investment Banking and from January 2022 he assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer, Business and Commercial Banking.
